Richard J. Gravett, 43, a native of Waynetown and veteran of WWII died suddenly of heart seizure at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home, 5851 Cadillac Drive, Speedway City. Born Dec 6, 1915, Mr. Gravett was the son of George and Mary Bunnel Gravett. He married Susan Harris of Waynetown April 18, 1937. They were married in the Harris home. Mr. Gravett operated a service station in Indianapolis after leaving here. He was employed by the the Ellis Trucking Co of Indianapolis at the time of his death. he was a member of the Speedway City Christian Church, and Waynetown Masonic Lodge 302. He attended Waynetown schools. Mr. Gravett served with Quartermaster Corps in World War II. He enlisted April 21, 1945 and received an honorable discharge in January of 1946. Survivors include the widow; a son, Harris D. Gravett, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Jo Williamson of Crawfordsville; Carol Ann of Indianapolis and Linda, at home; a brother, George Gravett of Crawfordsville, a grandson, Rodger Brian Williamson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Servies funeral Home at Waynetown, with burial at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Dr. Ray Montgomery, pastor of the Speedway City Christian Church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home. - kbz
